The Dark Knight Rises And Ends!

The Dark Knight Rises- And It Ends The Most Awesome Trilogy of the 21st century As promised, I am writing my views and a mini report on “ The Dark Knight Rises ” or TDKR . This post does not contain any spoilers, so people who haven’t seen it can also have a read. Plus I am not revealing any part of the movie or the story. Just as a prelude ( people knowing about TDKR and Nolan can skip the para ): this is the third and the conclusive film on The Batman, directed by the much acclaimed and revered  Christopher Nolan. He has directed masterpieces like The Prestige (my all time favourite), Inception , Memento etc. The first two movies are The Batman Begins and The Dark Knight . Both being super hits and excellent movies. This movie had a lot of hype and expectation behind it, because Nolan was going to end a character, which was given a new birth by him. The Batman, or Nolan’s Batman or even Christian Bale’s Batman (the actor) was going to end his reel life in the film. I am

Political Parties in Maharashtra and their Opportunism

This is a satirical piece, wherein political parties active in Maharashtra display their opportunism, using the example of the famous phrase- “Strike the Iron while it is Hot” . I hope you all know its meaning. I will start with the Ruling Parties: 1. NCP - They are the most efficient strikers. They not only strike the iron while it is hot, but also show continuous efforts to heat the iron by striking it repeatedly. But their problem is that, that they like to use the mallet which had been discarded by the other workmen rather than getting their own mallet. Hence sometimes it can do wonders (municipal elections) and sometimes can be terrible (LS elections). 2. Congress - They show team work in striking the iron. Many workmen try to strike the iron at a time using their own mallets. Sometimes the iron is shaped beautifully. But in other cases, the mallet hits some other workmen’s fingers and gets him injured (infighting). At the same time, they are over depe

My commentary on Sayameva Jayate's show on Caste System

I admit that i switched off my tv-set almost 3/4th way into the show. But from whatever I have seen, these are my conclusion/readings: 1. In Urban areas (amounts to 35%) along with semi-urban, like towns or talukas, i think the problem of 'untouchability' is negligible or nearly zero. Even if there might be a few orthodox people, the majority of the villagers would have subdued it. Brahmins constitute less than 4% of the Indian population!!  My village and places where my cousins live don’t face the problem. The problem, if it really exists is only in rural or “khed gavs”. I have not seen untouchability in my life!! But have heard my grandparents talk about it. I think looking at the rate of urbanization and education, this problem will slowly get eradicated. 2. About the priest talking like this, it would be a gross miscalculation if that was to be generalized. I think less than 0.1% Brahmins would accept his views. Secondly, there is no written/scientific proof of wha

Serendipity!

Image
A Glimpse of Supernatural intervention or pure luck! - Serendipity I am somewhat a believer. I believe that some kind of intangible super-natural power exists. Science may not prove it, but my belief system does. There are various incidents in my life which made me think so. One such episode I witnessed a few weeks ago is another addition to the lists of events which make me believe in that super-natural power. One fine evening my friend and I were returning from Infiniti Mall in Andheri (W). We had to take a bus to Andheri (E) Depot, which was close to Andheri (E) station and from there a direct bus to Thane, where we lived. We boarded a bus concluding at Andheri (E) depot. However, it got stuck in traffic just before it was about to reach the station. So we decided to abandon the journey and go walking. We reached Andheri Station on the West side. In order to reach the Eastern side we needed an over-bridge. Thane station had two wonderful public over-bridges just on the outer
