God and Odds

Who is God? It’s a Strength! Today, Science might have reached the Zenith. Technology may have advanced so much that the definition of ‘impossible’ is being re-written over the years. But both Science and Technology have failed to convince the reasons why we, as humans or mortals, should believe in God/Religion and vice versa. In this mini-thesis, I am trying to convince people why one should believe in God/Religion. (Before proceeding let me make it clear, I consider being a follower of a particular religion itself means that you believe in God. I will be taking the Hindu religion as the reference simply because I am adept and well familiar with it.) Lord Krishna, during the Mahabharata was conversing with Arjuna. Arjuna had objected to fight and shed blood of his owns, i.e. during the Kurukshetra. Lord Krishna’s conversation with Arjuna formed the basis of Bhagwad Gita and it acts like a bastion for all Hindu religious matters. Lord Krishna clearly mentions that one is no...

Nepal: 34 Burma: 30 Afghanistan: 36 Qatar: 30 India: 53 Distribution: Basic Cost per Liter: 16.50 + Center Tax: 11.80 + Excise Duty: 9.75 + State Tax: 8.00 + Vat CES: 4.00 + Now Extra Rs. 300 ________________ Grand Total = Rs. 53 ________________ Kudos to the Aam Aadmi Governance…. So now I am supporting the Bharath Bandh called on 5 th of July. Very initially I was opposing it, for 1. Unnecessary complications, as parties may not be united. Party supporting it will be frustrated and may wend its frustration on public property as a showcase of strength. 2. Administrative standstill, even my Driving School is closed. Offices will shut down and surely an official leave wont be granted. 3. Indirect support of INC allies spoils the intention. Reasons why I changed sides: 1. It’s obvious intention. 2. If govt. decides to cut down the price...

Servicing.....

Image
Today happened to be a lucky day for my Activa. She was lucky to get a servicing done by a nearby mechanic. Not a big deal, as it is customary to most 2-wheelers. But what caught my attention was the final bill. It included a whooping Rs. 350 as uncompromised labour charge i.e. the cash that the mechanic ‘charged’ for his pains of servicing the scooterette. I made a mini survey to make a small conclusion/thesis. The mechanic takes about 45 mins for the servicing. Cleaning up the internal parts, tightening the screws are just a few of those. Similar to a ‘refresh’ command, servicing basically rejuvenates one’s Moped. Servicing doesn’t require a skilled worker, not does it need any particular specification/qualifications from the person who is going to service your bike. Still we call him a mechanic. Taking out the charges of water and the usage of certain mechanical instruments, the worker pockets Rs. 275 for his contribution (including conversation with the customer) of 45 mins...

Welcome To Engineering....

SS: The following piece of writing is purely satirical and hypothetical. It does not resemble any person/object or situation in reality, any similarity to real life person/object should be taken as a pure co-incidence. Getting an over-head projector (OHP) in any normal college is one simple thing. Go and visit the staff room, and swap your ID card for the projector. Plug in the wires, adjust the focus and you are done. An excellent substitute for black-board notes, making lives of so many teachers across the globe easier. Not to forget the benefits of the same to the students who don’t have to burn their retinas in comprehending the caricatures, I mean diagrams, made by their teachers on the black-board. When it comes to an engineering college in MU, there is a twist in everything, right from the first day in the college. You are made to sign a self-imposed imposition; I mean the admission form of course, of ‘Imprisonment in the institution for 4 years or more for some special out-stan...

De Desastres de Madrid

Image
This is an aftermath of Real Madrid’s elimination from the Champions League. Real Madrid were eliminated from the Europe’s elite competition in the pre-quarters by Olympique Lyonnais (commonly known as Lyon) by a scoreline of (1-2; 0-1 away and 1-1 at home). It took the whole footballing world by a shock, and its after-effects were felt even ‘near’ me. This gave me the stimulus to write this blog/article. Cristiano Ronaldo, Ricardo Kaka’, Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos (who played the game) in addition to Karim Benzema, Xabi Alonso will surely be listed in the world’s best playing footballers in present-day listings. Coupled with an immaculate coaching staff under the leadership of shrewd and eminently known Pellegrini, one may call it a near-dream team. President Florentino Perez’s arrival last season meant that Real Madrid is going to aim for the sky this year… and as usual fall on the ground hurt. Such ‘big-name’ players won the support and loyalty of many fans across the globe, and mo...
