The Aarushi Case

I recently read a tehelka article on the Aarushi Talwar- Hemraj double murder case. The case is quite interesting and very much a bollywood like. I wish I was the investigating officer of the case, it would have been very very interesting!

Should Del Piero extend his Juve stay?

It was just a couple of days back, at the Juventus Arena, Juve were playing out an embarrassing draw against Lazio. Conte then decided to sub in Del Piero for the last few minutes. A free-kick was awarded at the edge of the box- though not in the best of shooting ranges. Pirlo and Del Piero came over it…and Del Piero cannoned the ball across the face of the wall which took the Lazio goalkeeper for a daze and the ball was in the back of the net. The goal was the winner, worthy of 3 points and Juventus were back in the race for the scudetto . The goal fired up not only the scudetto race but also another long lasting debate- should Del Piero stay another year at Juve? Earlier in the season, Juventus management had quite absurdly announced that this season would be Del Piero’s final one and he would ply his trade outside Turin once he is done with it. It didn’t surprise many Juve fans at that time, since the 37 year old had done his job at the club, not only did he cement his position...

Funny EC Directives

Really funny move taken by EC: They ordered all Elephant statues to be covered during election time- why? Because Elephant is the Election Symbol of Mayawati ! Really horrendous. I am sure more updates are going to come as: 1. No one will travel using a cycle, or train with an engine because it is the symbol of SP and MNS. 2. All Lotus' will be destroyed, it is the symbol of BJP. 3. All grass will be trimmed instantly, because it is the symbol of Trinamool. 4. No one will use lanterns, even in the dark, because it is the symbol of RJD. 5. No farmer will harvest during election time, because Plough etc. are Communist symbols! I am sure EC has given the directives on the order of Sonia Gandhi, because she didn't imagine what will happen if the palm is not allowed to function (symbol of Congress) !!! :-D What's your say?

Reverse Psychology – on the recent Gopinath Munde episode

Image
Reverse Psychology – on the recent Gopinath Munde episode Reverse Psychology is sensational, if one can implement it correctly. Still, I was always under the belief that subjects like reverse psychology were more speculative rather than achievable, because one doesn't have a preset standard or a procedural methodology to practice them. This leads to my conclusion that miracles that occur due to Reverse Psychology are more heuristic and intrinsic rather than cognitive. How does it relate to current day politics? As a keen political observer, probing the Gopinath Munde case just reinforced my inference that Reverse Psychology miracles occur unknowingly or intrinsically. You must be wondering how? Well this is how it goes. Everyone knows what the background to the Munde-Gadkari dual is, so I am briefly expanding it again. After Gadkari’s elevation to the position of National Executive President (the highest one can reach in the BJP), people instinctively concluded it as a move...

Politics Corruption and the Lokpal

Corruption is a household word now, thanks to Anna Hazare and his crusade against Corruption. Every responsible citizen is proud of it, especially given the fact that the campaign is apolitical in nature. One major rationale for which it got overwhelming response was that it stayed away from politics. The question that I am asking is that can such a mass movement, which is extremely hopeful in causing various changes, can ever be non-political? Accept a few facts: when the word government comes in Indian Democracy, it has to have a political connection. Ultimately the government is formed and ruled by a political party/coalition, whose prima facie aim is to remain intact in power as long as possible. Every government’s decision, directly or indirectly has to have a political motive; and so is the response of the government towards Anna Hazare’s movement. The UPA II has been a disaster. All their misdoings are coming out, and the nation is flooded with scams and frauds: an irrev...

The Political Travesty

Image
How do you react when someone asks ‘you’ about Politics? (Unless you are in that rare bunch of people who are politically inclined) Usually ‘you’ will ignore the question with disgust on your face. But isn’t the same ‘you’ who will abuse the politicians and loathe the system when you are seeing a new scam popping up on your news channel. Every day a new fraud is unearthed and every day a new word is added to your list of abuses aimed towards the politicians. You lament over the present situation yet show your outrage for the people involved, still you decline to comment on it publicly and sometime even refuse to vote. This indifference towards the system just widens the gap between the People and the Power. The first step to reconciliation is elections. Here is where the fun begins! To win an election in India, all you need is 3 things: money to dispense, issues to rattle on and a specious opposition to bark on. The first depends on the party the candidate is representing, second i...

Local Train

The Navi Mumbai train route is usually not as teeming as Mumbai’s. I exploited this fact to my full potential! A journey from Vashi to Koperkhairane would often turn into 15 minutes of rumination, or sometimes it would come as an extension to my sleep. For a lady of my age, w orking in an IT company is always a dreary task. My Office was pretty close to my residence, and this was the very reason I used to get late. Today was nothing special. Usually getting up late meant my daily schedule had to undergo a 1.5x speedup. Reaching office even a minute after 10 o’clock meant a sacrifice of my Saturday shopping. The stringent tenet of our company was flouted, and you had to pay a heavy price for it, literally. It was 9.10, the 8 th iteration of my snooze, when I came to life. The Alarm Clock is the worst nightmare of a night-fantasist! However I feared another such horror show was on display for me later in the day, perhaps around or after 10.00. Being the ‘better’ of the sexes was n...
